Toyota And Lexus' Electrification Vehicles Are Selling In The US In September 2024

JAKARTA - Japan's largest automotive manufacturer, Toyota reported the sale of vehicles during September 2024 in the United States (US) with a book of 162,595 units, down 20.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

However, the sales of environmentally friendly vehicles consist of Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV), Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), and fuel-cell (FCEV) accounted for 48.4 percent of the total or 78,683 units (up 22.4 percent).

"In September, nearly 50 percent of our total sales volume was an electric model, an achievement achieved by our outstanding team and dealer," said Toyota Motor North America (TMMA) Executive Vice President of Toyota North America (TMMA) Jack total, on the Toyota USA website, Thursday, October 3.

In the third quarter, the company collected sales of 542,872 units, down 8 percent, but electrification increased by 38.6 percent or books up to 255,863 units.

For nine months in 2024, TMMA collected 1,729,519 vehicle sales units, an increase of 6.2 percent with 710,060 units from the electrification segment (an increase of 56 percent).

Then from the Toyota division, this brand contributed up to 140,152 sales units (down 21.1 percent) and 461,883 units in the third quarter (down 10.4 percent). Meanwhile, the January to September period this year generated up to 1,481,319 sales units (up 5.5 percent).

The majority of Toyota brand's best-selling products are electrified products, consisting of bZ4X, Camry HEV, Crown Signia, Land Cruiser HEV, to Tundra HEV.

From Lexus, the premium brand pocketed sales of 22,443 units (down 14.5 percent) in September 2024. In the third quarter period, the brand managed to sell 80,989 units (up 8.1 percent) and for nine months with a total of 248,200 units (up 10.7 percent) in Uncle Sam's country.

Just like Toyota, Lexus' best-selling product is an electrification vehicle such as RX HEV, RX PHEV, and a pure RZ electric vehicle.
