Doctor Matthew Perry Admits Guilty, Can Be Sued For 10 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - Mark Chavez, one of the doctors who handled Matthew Perry, pleaded guilty to the spread of contaminants to the actor, causing death.

Chavez filed a defense before judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett before facing trial and hearing the verdict on April 2, 2025.

Launching Deadline, Chavez could face a sentence of 10 years in prison. At the previous trial, Chavez was released on a guarantee of 50 thousand US dollars and ordered not to carry out medical practice. In a separate trial, he agreed to hand over his medical license in California.

The other two defendants, Jasveen Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plasencia confirmed their innocence for several cases involving the contaminants. They are scheduled to undergo trial on March 4, 2025,

The prosecutor also said ErikGER and Toluca Lake were found guilty of helping distribute the contaminants that caused Matthew Perry's death.

Five defendants face federal hearings in connection with the ketamine distribution case that left Matthew Perry dead in October 2023 at his residence in Pacific Palisade.

"Mark Chavez agreed to declare guilty to one of the cases of spreading contaminants and signed a defense," the court said on Wednesday, October 2.

"(P. Rosenbluth) will set a date for the process of changing Chavez's defense or direct the parties to contact the federal district panel of judges assigned to handle the case to set a trial date," he said.

Matthew Perry died in October 2023 after being declared an overdose at his residence. After going through an investigation, Perry's condition was in an addiction related to doctors and assistants who deliberately harmed him.

Initially he was declared an overdose, but after the investigator underwent an examination he was declared drowned,settle disease, and the effects of buprenorpin, a drug used to treat opioid disorders.

The prosecutor also revealed that before he died, Matthew Perry received several injections from his household assistant.
