Microsoft Paint Presents AI-Based Generative Erase And Fill Features
JAKARTA Microsoft introduced a new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based feature for Paint, an image editing app, on PC Copilot Plus. This new feature is believed to facilitate the image editing process.
There are two features that the company launched, namely Generative Erase and Generative Fill. Generation Erase can be used to remove unwanted objects such as photobombs, messy backgrounds, and other problems in the image.
Meanwhile, Generative Fill is a tool to add objects to the image using a text description. Users can choose where the object will be placed. Quoting from The Verge, these two features are similar to the tools in Photoshop.
In fact, the object-accreting tool in Photoshop is also called Generative Fill. Although the name is the same, Generative Fill in Paint uses a different system. Microsoft explains that its two newest features are built on the Correator, a feature for text prompt input.

Before Generation Erase and Generative Fill were released, Microsoft had improved the performance of the Correator so that its quality and speed of output had increased. Microsoft also includes default moderation in the tool to prevent abuse.
Apart from Paint, Microsoft has also added a Generative Erase to the Photo app, along with the latest AI-based Super-Resolution feature. This feature can improve blurry images, improve images up to eight times, and more.
