Indonesia U-20 Will Practice At IKN For Preparation For The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team has confirmed a place in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup finals in China. However, before continuing the struggle, Indra Sjafri's team will undergo a training camp in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

This was reported by the coach of the U-20 Indonesian national team, Indra Sjafri, and the Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi. Dony Tri Pamungkas and his friends will certainly undergo training in a new place which is also planned to be the headquarters of the Garuda Squad in the future.

Currently, Indra Sjafri explained that the players will be sent home to their respective clubs before trying out the agenda at IKN.

"On Monday (September 30, 2024) the players will be returned to the club. After that, I will return the road map to the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup," said Indra Sjafri, quoted on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

"On 7 to 10 or 11 (October 2024) we will try the field at IKN. One week there to conduct training, to coincide with the inauguration of IKN," said Indra about training at IKN.

On the same occasion, Yunus Nusi also ensured that only the U-20 Indonesian national team trained at IKN in the series of inauguration of the new PSSI National Training Center location.

"(Indonesian National Team) U-20 only those (trained) Indra Sjafri, on October 6-7, 2024 they went there as well as inaugurated the PSSI Training Center there."

"Hopefully the President of FIFA Gianni (Infantino) will also come. Inauguration as well as TC to prepare for the U-20 Indonesian national team in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup," said Yunus.

The training center at IKN has almost 100 percent been completed. Yunus also believes that the field and supporting facilities will be in the best condition.

"Good, 90 percent, for TC, it has met the requirements. The field must be good, accommodation is good, facilities are also certain," said Yunus.

The construction of the Indonesian National Team Training Center at IKN has started last year and received a grant from FIFA Forward worth 1.25 million dollars or equivalent to Rp. 19.2 billion. The government also allocated Rp95 billion in funds for the Training Center.

PSSI Training Center at IKN also has eight fields consisting of five large fields, one futsal field, one closed field, and one beach football field.
