Big Tree Falls Over Battalion Armed 13 Sukabumi Headquarters, No Casualties
A large tree fell on the fence of the Medan Artillery Battalion (YoNarmed) 13 Kostrad Sukabumi. There were no casualties or injuries in the incident.
"It happened in RT 03/10, Sukamulya Village, Cikembar District at around 14.30 WIB," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Section of the Sukabumi Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Medi Abdul Hakim in Sukabumi, Saturday, September 29.
According to Medi, due to the incident on September 28, the Mako Yonarmed 13 Sukabumi fence was damaged in several parts and closed road access from Cibadak District to Cikembar and vice versa.
The impact was that motorized vehicles such as motorbikes, cars, trucks and others from two directions could not pass, because the entire road was covered by tree trunks. Evacuation of the tree trunk took a long time so that traffic flow was paralyzed around the scene.
The tree with a diameter of more than one meter with a height of more than 20 meters fell, allegedly due to its old condition and weathering in several parts of the main trunk so that it was unable to withstand the strong winds that hit the area.

Evacuating the tree trunk takes about three hours. Post-evacuation or around 17.20 WIB the road access is reopened and currently the traffic flow from both directions has returned to normal.
On the other hand, he appealed to uncertain weather conditions that were sometimes hot or hot, but suddenly it changed in rain accompanied by strong winds with the potential for disasters such as hurricanes, fallen trees and landslides.
Therefore, his party appealed to residents to always be vigilant and pay attention to natural phenomena that can trigger a disaster. Then for motorists who pass to areas prone to fallen trees and landslides such as the Cikembar-Palabuhanratu route to always pay attention to the appeal board and if extreme weather falls, it is better to postpone travel and find safer places.
The evacuation of fallen trees involved a number of officers such as from the Sukabumi Regency BPBD, Yonarmed 13 personnel, PLN and firefighters, Civil Service Police Unit, and various other elements.
