Big Explosion In Beirut Lebanon, Israel Claims Attack Hezbollah Headquarters

JAKARTA - Several major explosions rocked the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Israel said its troops attacked Hezbollah's headquarters by airstrikes.

CNN geolocated videos shared on social media showing a lot of thick smoke in the southern suburbs known as Dahiyeh, following the attack.

Dahiyeh is a densely populated area with a strong presence of Hezbollah, as well as the basis for many leaders of the group.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Yahvi said in a short video statement that the Israeli military attacked Hezbollah's headquarters.

"Some time ago, the IDF carried out an exact attack on the headquarters of the terror organization Hezbollah which became the epicenter of the Hezbollah terror," said kazi as quoted by CNN, Friday, September 27.

Hezbollah's terror base was deliberately built under a residential building in the heart of Beirut's city, as part of Hezbollah's strategy in using a human shield, he added.
