This Is The Best Android Hidden Feature You Should Try

JAKARTA - Your Android phone has hundreds of features that are often overlooked everyday. While many have no major impact on your life, there are some practical tricks you may not know about.

These features are often hidden in settings or not widely known. Here are some of your favorite Android hidden features that can make your life easier.

You don't need expensive foldable phones to use divided screen features on Android. This feature allows you to open two apps simultaneously, such as watching YouTube while answering messages on WhatsApp. Just open the list of the latest apps, select the three-dot menu over the app you want to share, and select Split Screen. Select the second app, and both apps will appear on the screen, each occupying half the space.

Instead of tapping the app to open it, try pressing the app icon for a long time on the home screen. Some apps will display shortcuts directly to certain sections or features. For example, by pressing the Google Photos icon for a long time, you can directly access your screenshot. You can also drag this shortcut to the home screen for faster access.

Instead of spelling your Wi-Fi password, you can share it by scanning the QR code. Open the Wi-Fi settings, select your Wi-Fi connection, then select Share. QR codes will be generated, and other users can scan them to connect directly to your Wi-Fi network.

This feature is not only for those who have visual impairments. You can use this feature to listen to text, such as emails or digital articles, while you are busy. Highlight the text you want to listen to, press the three-dot icon, and select Read Aloud. The voice will read the text, and you can adjust the text size and read speed.

The live text provides a live transcription of the speech or lyrics played on your device. Press one of the volume buttons, then select the Live Captions icon under the volume indicator. The text will appear and be updated as the sound is heard, with setting options like language.

Enable Focus Mode to temporarily turn off annoying applications, such as social media or games. Notifications from these applications are also temporarily suspended. You can set this mode in Settings > Digital Wellbeing > Focus Mode and select which apps need to be disabled.

This feature allows you to lock one app on the screen. This is useful if you want to hand your phone over to someone else, but don't want them to access other apps. Enable this feature in Settings > Security & Privacy > App Pin. To spin the app, open the latest app and select Pin. To open the pin, hold the Back button and Latest Apps.

Developer Options open a follow-up settings for your phone. To enable it, find your phone's build number in the settings, then tap seven times. Once enabled, you can access many technical settings, such as USB purchasing or limiting background processes.

If you use a limited data package, the Data Saver mode helps reduce data usage by preventing apps from using mobile data in the background. You can create exceptions for certain important applications, such as email. Enable this feature in Settings > Cellular Network > Data Usage > Data Saver.

The Quick Settings feature allows you to enable settings like Bluetooth or hotspots with one tap. Press the old one of the quick settings to immediately open the associated settings submenu. For example, pressing the older mobile data icon will take you directly to the Cellular Network menu.
