Bus Overturned In US Mississippi, 7 Passengers Killed, 37 Others Injured

JAKARTA - At least seven people, including a 6-year-old boy, died in an overturned bus incident in Mississippi, United States (US).

Based on a written statement from the Mississippi Highway Patrol quoted via CBC News, Sunday, September 1, the bus, which was driven by a man named Regiomontanos Autobuses, drove west at Interstate 20 and then went off track and capsized.

The police received reports of the accident at 12.40 in the morning.

Authorities said six passengers were declared dead at the scene. While the other breathed his last after being taken to the Merit Health Hospital in Vicksburg.

The accident also left 37 passengers injured and rushed to hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson.

Until now, an investigation is still being carried out by the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Commercial Transportation Law Enforcement Division to find out the cause of this accident.
