Advancing The Jakarta Regional Election, Pramono Anung Claims To Have Repeatedly Asked To Withdraw To Jokowi

JAKARTA - Pramono Anung claims to have repeatedly asked to resign from his position as Cabinet Secretary Minister (Menseskab) to President Joko Widodo because he was running as a candidate for governor of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. However, Pramono admitted that Jokowi had not approved it.

"So I have spoken with the President. The law regulates in detail and in detail about this, what is asked to immediately resign is the TNI, Polri and ASN, state officials depend on state officials, and because this is so sudden and suddenly I have personally wanted to file a resignation many times," said Pramono at Tarakan Hospital, Central Jakarta, Friday, August 30.

"But of course to be able to resign or not, it depends on the President," he continued.

Pramono said that prior to President Jokowi's decision regarding his resignation, he would still serve as Minister of Cabinet Secretary until the time the Jakarta Regional Election campaign began.

"As of September 23, before starting the September 27 campaign, as long as there is no decision to be allowed to resign, of course, I am working normally and professionally," said Pramono.

Pramono is committed not to use his time as Cabinet Secretary for campaigns. He ensured that he would continue to work professionally.

"If the question is whether I want to resign or not, it seems that I will be with Mrs. Mega and with the President I will speak," he concluded.
