65 Witnesses In The East Java Grant Fund Bribery Case Have Been Worked On By The KPK Since Last Monday
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined 65 witnesses to investigate the alleged bribery case of grant funds within the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov). They consist of the head of community groups and field coordinators located in the Pasuruan and Probolinggo areas, East Java.
KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika said the examination was carried out from Monday, August 26 to Thursday, August 29.
"KPK investigators have examined 65 witnesses related to the investigation into alleged corruption in the management of grant funds for community groups or pokmas from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2019-2022 fiscal year," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, August 30.
Tessa explained that investigators studied a number of things from the examination. Including the issue of disbursement and cutting grant funds from the East Java Provincial Government to the group of people who have not been detailed.
"Investigators are investigating the process of applying for grant funds, disbursing grant funds, fragmenting grant funds, and the truth of managing grant funds," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK has named 21 new suspects in the alleged bribery of grant funds for community groups or pokmas from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2019-2022 Fiscal Year. This effort is the development of the case that ensnared the former Deputy Chairperson of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua P. Simanjuntak.
Investigators in this case have searched the office of the East Java Provincial Government (Jatim) some time ago. As a result, documents and electronic goods have been confiscated regarding the alleged bribery case of grant funds.
In addition, the KPK also examined the Minister of PDTT who is also the brother of the General Chairperson of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar, Abdul Halim Iskandar at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Thursday, August 22. He was questioned about the grant funds.
