France Will Ban The Use Of Cellphones In Schools

JAKARTA - French Education Minister Nicole Belloubet said the country would test a ban on using cell phones in schools as soon as the new school year begins in September 2024.

Belloubet said the "digital jeda" would be implemented in 200 schools for now.

Reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, the Minister of Education stated his plan to impose the ban on all schools in France in January 2025.

"However, and I emphasize, that does not mean I reject the use of digital pedagogicals," said the education minister, citing the benefits of artificial intelligence as a learning tool.

"The essence of the ban is to prevent students from using their phones in the school grounds," the minister said.
