Registering for Pilkada, RK-Suswono paraded by Ondel-Ondel and Barongsai to Jakarta KPU
JAKARTA - The pair of Ridwan Kamil (RK) and Suswono will register as candidates for governor and deputy governor (bacagub-bacawagub) to the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU) on Wednesday 28 August.
RK-Suswono travelled to the Jakarta KPU from the Maxone Kramat Hotel at 1.30 pm.
Compactly wearing Betawi clothes and slinging an orange sarong around the neck, the RIDO pair was also paraded by ondel-ondels and lion dance parades.
‘Alhamdulillah, as we promised at 2 o'clock, we will register with the DKI Jakarta KPU accompanied by the enthusiasm of the community, some donated lion dance, some donated ondel-ondel, there were marawis and so on, along with the party because we are a coalition of unity, the number is also very large, indicating solidity, political conduciveness. Insya Allah will accompany us,’ said Ridwan Kamil at Maxone Hotel, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, 28 August.

The leaders of supporting political parties who are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus, Deputy Chairman of the PKS Shuro Council Hidayat Nur Wahid and a number of other political party cadres were present.
RK-Suswono walked together to the Jakarta KPU Office which is about 500 metres away at 13.30-14.00 WIB.
RK-Suswono is planned to arrive at the Jakarta KPU located at Raya Salemba, Central Jakarta, at 14.00 WIB.

Upon arrival at the Jakarta KPU office, RK-Suswono will follow the welcoming process and immediately hand over the nomination requirement documents by the joint party leaders to the KPU chairman, and end with a group photo around 14.00-15.30 WIB.
After officially registering, RK-Suswono will hold a press conference with the media on the KPU Jakarta page at 15.30-15.45 WIB.
It is known that Ridwan Kamil and Suswono have received support from 12 political parties. They are PKS, Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, NasDem Party, PKB, PSI, Democratic Party, PAN, Garuda Party, Gelora Party, Perindo, and PPP.
