Successfully Printing History To Be The First Indonesian Player In Serie A, Jay Idzes: I'm Proud

JAKARTA - Indonesian national team defender, Jay Idzes, is happy and proud of his debut appearance in Serie A 2024/2025. While defending his club, Venezia, Idzes is also proud to have made history as the first Indonesian player to finish in the highest Italian league.

Jay Idzes made his Serie A debut in the second week of the match between Venezia and Fiorentina. Traveling to the Artemio Franchi Stadium, Florence, on Sunday, August 25, 2024, Idzes appeared as a starter.

"I'm happy with the first point of the season. There are many other points to come," Jay Idzes wrote about his appearance through his Instagram account quoted on Monday, August 26, 2024.

In the match which ended in a 0-0 draw, Idzes played 68 minutes. The 24-year-old defender became Venezia's defense leader and even almost scored.

Successfully making his Serie A debut also made Jay Idzes make history as the first player from Indonesia to play in Italy's highest league. This record is clearly proud for the player.

"I'm also proud to be the first Indonesian player to play in Serie A!" wrote Idzes again.

Unfortunately, Jay Idzes' condition after the match raised concerns for the Indonesian national team supporters. Idzes came out after suffering an injury.

In fact, the Indonesian national team will face an away match against Saudi Arabia on September 5, 2024 and the home party against Australia on September 10, 2024, on the 2026 World Cup Qualification agenda.
