Golkar Cadres File A Lawsuit Against West Jakarta District Court, Requests XI Golkar National Conference Results To Be Canceled
JAKARTA - The validity of the Golkar Party's National Conference XI which was held on August 20-21, 2024 at the Jakarta JCC was sued by the party cadre bearing the banyan symbol at the West Jakarta District Court (PN).
Representative of Golkar Party cadre M. Rafik assessed that the lawsuit was filed because it was alleged to have violated the Golkar Party's Articles of Association.
"We have registered our lawsuit with the District Court (PN)," said Rafik in a statement quoted on Saturday, August 24.
He asked the West Jakarta District Court to cancel all results of the XI National Conference because it was considered that the activity was against the law as stipulated in the Golkar Party Article 39 paragraph 2 point a Article 39 paragraph which states that the National Conference should be held in December 2024.
Rafik said, Airlangga Hartarto decided to resign from the position of General Chair of the Golkar Party on August 10, 2024. Furthermore, the Golkar Party DPP held Pleno on August 13, 2024, appointing Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita (AGK) as Acting General Chair.
Thus, he said, AGK together with the Secretary-General and other management will continue the remaining term of office of the Golkar Party DPP until December 2024, as well as be in charge of implementing the XI National Conference on schedule.
"Instead of immediately setting the National Conference on August 20-21, 2024 and issuing a committee decree on August 15, 2024," he said.
"If the Golkar Party DPP wants to be constitutional, it should be for the Munaslub, because it will be held before the schedule, so the Munaslub must be in the constitution, the basic budget is allowed by the Munaslub on the condition that one of them is on the basis of a request of 2/3 DPD Provincial," continued Rafik.
To note, this lawsuit case has been registered at the West Jakarta District Court with Case number 762/Pdt.Su-Parpol/2024/PN Jkt.Brt dated August 23, 2024.
