Central Java Police Support Freedom Of Opinion But In A Peaceful Way
Responding to the demonstration that led to a riot at the Central Java Provincial DPRD Building (Central Java), the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol Artanto emphasized that the Police support freedom of opinion and demonstration as part of the democratic rights of every citizen.
However, according to him, this support must be accompanied by a commitment to maintain peace and order during the action.
"The police support freedom of opinion, including demonstrations, as long as it is carried out in a peaceful manner and does not interfere with the rights of others. Demonstrations are a form of expression in a democratic country, but must be carried out with full responsibility," said Kombes Pol Artanto in his statement today, Thursday, August 22, 2024.

Furthermore, Kombes Pol Artanto also appealed to all participants of the action to maintain public order during the demonstration.
"We remind colleagues, avoid all forms of provocation that can harm all parties," he said
Not only that, Artanto also invited the masses to maintain and respect public facilities during the action.
"Public facilities are shared property, we urge demonstrators not to damage public property. Let's convey our aspirations in a positive way and not tarnish the message they want to convey with destructive actions," he added.
