The DPR Hajj Special Committee Will Meet With The Government Of Saudi Arabia
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the 2024 Hajj Organizing Special Committee (Pansus Anggaket Hajj) Wisnu Wijaya said that his party was scheduled to visit the Government of Saudi Arabia in order to obtain information and check facts related to the 2024 Hajj issue.
"It's in the lockdown, even we who are appointed in this special committee will also visit the Saudi Arabian government," said Wisnu as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 22.
One of the things that will be confirmed to the Government of Saudi Arabia is the issue of the Indonesian pilgrims' quota.
"We will also cross-check not only regarding this quota, but also related to catering, accommodation," he said.
Previously, the Chairman of the Special Committee for Hajj, Nusron Wahid, had described three scopes that became the focus of his party's problems in carrying out the supervisory function of the government's policy of organizing Hajj.
"What we have agreed on earlier has three scopes," said Nusron.
First, his party will investigate allegations of abuse of authority of the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in terms of allocating additional hajj quotas.
"What should be used for regularity, (but) is used for special Hajj pilgrims," he said.
