Unnes Explores Student Truth At FIK Allegedly Perpetrators Of Sexual Harassment

JAKARTA - Semarang State University (Unnes) responded to the circulation of conversations on social media regarding allegations of sexual violence by one of its students with the initials J from the Unnes Faculty of Sports Sciences (FIK).

The conversation was revealed by the @araoulette account on the evening of Tuesday, August 20. The account also attached the identity of the alleged perpetrator, several screenshots of the conversation between the victim and the perpetrator related to the incident that occurred in December 2023.

"The FIK Ethics Team, the Unnes Student Section Team, and the Unnes Ethics Team have worked by digging up information from various sources to obtain correct and balanced information," said Head of Unnes Public Relations (Humas), Rahmat Petuguran in Semarang, Wednesday, August 21.

According to Rahmat, the Unnes Student Team on Tuesday night, August 20, slimly dig up information through the @araoulette account owner and seek a meeting with the victim so that they can get more detailed information.

On Wednesday, the Unnes FIK Ethics Team contacted the alleged perpetrator to get more detailed information, including communicating with the parents of the alleged perpetrator.

"The FIK Ethics Team will explore and collect information from various sources to ensure the legality of information and obtain information in a balanced manner," he said.

If based on this information, indications of violence, sexual harassment, or even rape, he said, Unnes would conduct an ethics trial against J.

Sanctions against students suspected of being perpetrators of sexual harassment or harassment, he said, will be given in accordance with Rector of Unnes Regulation Number 44 of 2018 and Permendikbud Number 30 of 2021.

"Information about the development of this matter will be conveyed further," he said.

Unnes asked all parties involved to cooperate, so that the handling of the case can be carried out in a complete, proportional and fair manner in accordance with applicable regulations.
