Krisdayanti: I Found A Way To Go Home That Elegant
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period Krisdayanti expressed his gratitude for receiving a recommendation from the PDI-P Party as a candidate for Mayor of Batu, East Java Province. The politician and Diva Pop who was born in Malang, March 24, 1975 said that he found an elegant way to go home.
"Alhamdulillah, I never imagined God's plans for me. I never imagined that Mama from Batu would move to Jakarta in 1984, then get an elegant way to go home by being nominated (as a Bacakada Batu)," Krisdayanti said on the EdShareOn podcast with host Eddy Wijaya which aired on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Reporting from various media, the actress who is familiarly called KD left her hometown in Batu, East Java, to Jakarta at the age of 9. Together with her mother Rachma Widadiningsih, she tried her luck in the capital because of the difficult family economic conditions.
"God's path and plan are not extraordinary. That was what I said earlier, an elegant way to go home, to return home to serve," said the wife of a businessman from Timor Leste, Raul Lemos.
Despite failing to maintain his seat in Senayan in the February 24 election, KD is determined to run as a candidate for mayor of Batu to continue his service to the community. Singer Anang Hermansyah's ex-wife wants to build her hometown by carrying the tagline of Batu SERU City, which stands for Sejahtera, Rukun, United.
People say that Batu City has a lot of construction, but when asking the community, have the people also been prosperous? In my opinion, Pilkada is not just a momentum for consolidation, Pilkada is a movement with the people," he said.

To Eddy Wijaya, KD also vented that he was uncomfortable with the world of politics before going into it. But finally he realized about wisdom and how someone can do it for the benefit of the community. "Political is a noble goal. PDI-P through political schools taught me that position is not your personal goal. The general chairman in a high tone conveyed to me, come on, Ms. KD, go down to the people, continue, greet your people," said KD imitating the call of PDI-P Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
From these various encouragements and supports, KD has finally strengthened its intention to run as the number one person in Batu City. He also intensely visited the public to listen to their complaints. Some of the complaints recorded by KD were the existence of an annoying Final Disposal Site (TPA) and a number of damaged infrastructure.
According to statistical data, 98 percent of Indonesians have not sorted their waste properly. There are several factors such as facilities, education and lack of awareness to sort waste. In Law 18 of 2018 it was also stated that actually we can be free from 100 percent of waste, but 30 percent of the waste must be managed at home, only 70 percent are sent to the TPA. Hopefully later there will be an institution or trash can, it also does not rule out the possibility that we are looking for investors who want to build Batu City so that later the waste can be processed into biodiesel and others," said KD.
Furthermore, KD said it would encourage the Batu City tourism sector which has extraordinary potential because it can increase regional income, create new jobs so as to reduce poverty. In Batu City there is nature tourism because it goes directly to nature, culture tourism or culture and then adventure tourism, all of whose games make you happy. But access to transportation is lacking, so we will encourage this," he said.
