Nurul Ghufron's Lawsuit Regarding The Regulation Of The KPK Supervisory Board Rejected By The Supreme Court

JAKARTA - The Supreme Court (MA) rejected the lawsuit filed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, regarding the Regulation of the Supervisory Board (Perdewas). This decision was made on August 12.

"The verdict rejects the objection request," was quoted as saying from the website kepaniteraan.makamahagung.go.id on Monday, August 19.

Ghufron's lawsuit is registered with case number: 26P/HUM/2024. The type of state administration case (TUN) and tried by the Chairman of the Assembly Irfan Fachruddin and his two members, Lulik Tri Cahyaningrum and Bright Bangun.

Usia perkara 29 hari, lama memutuskan 22 hari.

Ghufron previously sued Perdewas on April 25 and distributed on July 22. He took this legal step in connection with the alleged ethical violations being handled by the KPK Supervisory Board.

He is suspected of violating ethics after helping mutations at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). The employee he assisted was the son-in-law of a friend.

"Norma used in the examination of the ethics trial is Perdwas Number 3 and 4 of 2021. Both the material and the event are being submitted to the Supreme Court," he told reporters, Thursday, May 2.

The deputy chairman of the anti-corruption commission assessed that the KPK Council should not bring further reports against him to the ethics trial. He said this report had expired when referring to the council's rules.

Not suing the KPK Council to the Supreme Court, Ghufron also sued them to the State Administrative Court (PTUN). As a result of this legal step, the decision of the ethics trial against Ghufron has not been read out.

Ghufron is currently known to be running again as a candidate for the head of the anti-corruption commission. He was included as one of the 40 names who passed the written selection stage some time ago announced by Pansel Capim and the KPK Supervisory Board.
