Hamas Asks International Society And The United Nations To Protect Palestinians

JAKARTA - The Palestinian warrior group, Hamas, called on the international community and the United Nations to protect civilians in Gaza, especially Palestine, over Israel's military aggression that has not yet subsided.

"Violations committed by Israeli colonialists continue with support from Washington and Western countries, which provide protection for extremist governments to continue genocide," Hamas said in a statement, Saturday, August 17, confiscated by Antara.

Hamas said Israel continues to target unarmed civilians, especially in central Gaza, which is the main evacuation center for hundreds of thousands of people from the north and south of the Palestinian enclave.

Israeli attacks have killed at least 40,000 Palestinians in Gaza, since Hamas launched attacks since October 7 last year.

Since then, most Gazans have fled several times and most of the region has been destroyed into rubble.

"The occupation army is targeting unarmed civilians by issuing new evacuation orders, in addition to carrying out terrible massacres against many families. Recently, dozens of martyrs died, including the entire family consisting of 16 members, most of whom were children," said Hamas.

Earlier, Israeli soldiers reportedly killed a family of 16 Palestinians in an airstrike at their home in the Al-Zawaida area of the central Gaza Strip.
