President Jokowi Hands Over Aid For Manggarai Fire Victims
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) handed over assistance in the form of 1,000 food packages to residents affected by the fire disaster in Manggarai Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta.
The Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat informed that the assistance was handed over by the Presidential Secretariat through the Secretary of the Manggarai Sub-district, Rudy Cahyadi, and was held at the Manggarai District Refugee Command Post, Friday.
The fire that hit the Manggarai area on Tuesday (13/8) at 02.30 WIB has pose a big challenge for many families.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) report revealed that in the incident there were two affected RWs, namely RW 06 totaling 15 RTs and RW 12 totaling 6 RTs.
It was reported that 1,172 families were affected by the disaster.
In an effort to ease the burden on victims, President Jokowi directed the assistance as a form of government concern and support for the people affected by the disaster.
The assistance provided to the community consists of various basic needs such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and snacks.
The government continues to monitor the situation and is committed to providing the necessary support for people affected by the disaster, including efforts to ensure they get adequate assistance during the recovery period.

It is known that the South Jakarta City Administration Government is gradually relocating residents affected by the fire on Jalan Dr Saharjo RW 06 and RW 12 Manggarai, Tebet to Pasar Rumput Flats.
"Gradually, we will relocate residents affected by the fire to occupy the flats in Pasar Rumput," said South Jakarta Mayor Munjirin.
Munjirin said that every day the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. (Sudinhub) provides four school buses to take residents from the location to the flats.
On Friday, his party began to relocate 44 heads of families (KK) or around 189 people. It is certain that residents get rooms in flats with type 36 which is equipped with mattresses, air conditioning (AC), fans, bathrooms, and cabinets.
