East Jakarta Police Deploy Thousands Of Joint Personnel To Secure DKI Jakarta Pilkada

JAKARTA - Securing the Jakarta Pilkada on November 27, 2024, as many as 1,758 joint officers from the East Jakarta Metro Police, TNI, Satpol PP and Linmas (community protection) will be deployed.

"There are 1,758 joint officers. 873 personnel from the Resort Police themselves were deployed. These officers will guard 4,144 polling stations (TPS) in East Jakarta," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly when confirmed, Thursday, August 15.

The security operation will last for 140 days from August 14, 2024 to December 31, 2024.

"This operation will be carried out for approximately 140 days starting from August 14, 2024 to December 31, 2024," he said.

The security pattern carried out by the joint personnel starts from creating conditions that are carried out before (Pilkada), during the Pilkada and after the implementation of the simultaneous Pilkada stages which will be adjusted to the level of vulnerability of each region.

"Activities include early detection, 'cooling systems' of open and closed security to prosecution for those who try to interfere with the implementation at each stage of the Pilkada," he said.

He assessed that the East Jakarta area was still relatively safe and conducive. Although there are incidents that occur in the community, they can still be controlled.

"Indeed, in this East Jakarta area, the most prominent thing is the brawl of the residents, but thank God in the last few weeks it has been able to be controlled by us and the brawl has decreased," he said.

Nevertheless, his party together with the KPU and Bawaslu have mapped conflict-prone areas, such as areas that support political parties that are balanced, densely populated, slum areas and floods.

"We have anticipated this. I hope that the implementation of the Jakarta Pilkada will run safely and smoothly," he said.
