Wild Banner "Kaesang 2024-2029" Spreads In Jakarta, Heru Budi: Yes, As Long As There Is A Permit
JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono opened his voice about the existence of banners that read "Kaesang 2024-2029 DKI Jakarta" with the words originally installed at a number of points in Jakarta.
According to Heru, banners with any writing and images can be installed as long as they comply with the rules and have a permit to install them from the local government. However, Heru did not explain whether the banner had received permission or not.
"If it's according to the rules, that's okay too," said Heru at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, August 14.
When viewed, the banner had the intention of describing the image of PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep who was pushed forward as a candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta for the period 2024-2029.
A number of parties arrested that the banner had a political element ahead of the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada. Supposedly, campaign props should not be installed before the campaign period set by the KPU.

"Right now, the sentence must be seen. The sentence contains a regional election, right? It's okay, for example, I wrote 'Here Budi Hartono' everywhere, as long as there is a permit," explained Heru.
The banner of Kaesang's name, which was printed with red, was installed on the pedestrian bridge (JPO), electric poles, and roadside fences.
The banner has the potential to violate Article 52 of Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order. In the regulation, it is stated that every person or body is prohibited from placing or putting up symbols, symbols, flags, banners, umbuls, as well as other attributes on the bridge divider fence, fence divider fence, road, pedestrian bridge, bus stop, terminal, park, electric pole and other public places.
Meanwhile, PSI DPP Spokesperson I Putu Yoga Saputra emphasized that the "Kaesang 2024-2029" banner was not installed by his party. After all, there is no PSI logo listed on the banner.
"So don't ask PSI. Maybe this is a citizen initiative. The banners are proof that there are components of society or maybe volunteers who want Mas Kaesang to come forward," Putu said in his statement.
