Google Officially Stops Production Of Pixel Fold, Pixel 7, And Pixel 7 Pro, Welcoming The Presence Of The Pixel 9 Pro Fold

JAKARTA - Google has officially stopped production of the Pixel Fold, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro, in preparation for the launch of the new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This move was first reported by 9to5Google and marked the end of the era for Google's first foldable device, the Pixel Fold.

Pixel Fold isn't the only device to be stopped. Google also pulled Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro from circulation, although the Pixel 7a and the Pixel 8 family will still be available to consumers.

This decision is not a big surprise, considering that Google usually still sells old models until the stock runs out. However, the Pixel Fold is a different case because the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is not just an upgrade, but a complete reimagination. A larger form factor, a wider screen, and a better aspect ratio, coupled with a jump of two generations of SoC with a new G4 tensor, makes the Pixel Fold less attractive than its successors.

For those who still want the Pixel 7 or Pixel Fold, this device can still be found in some retailers like Amazon, although its stock may not last long. The Pixel Fold is currently selling for $1799 on Amazon, while the Pixel 7 Pro can be purchased for $589.98.

With the presence of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Google seems ready to focus on developing and marketing next-generation foldable devices, leaving old models behind.
