Palace Ensures Local Government Prepares List Of Local Residents Participating In RI Anniversary Ceremony At IKN
The Presidential Secretariat (Setpres) said the local government would prepare a list of local communities who would be invited to attend the ceremony of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2024 in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.
"There was an invitation. We are collaborating with the governors, regents, commanders, regional police chiefs. They are preparing a list (list), we are preparing invitations, all elements of society," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media at the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 9.
Meanwhile, the committee prepared up to 1,400 seats on the inside of the ceremonial field area and on the outside to anticipate the presence of the community and IKN workers.
"IKN workers were invited and presented," said Yusuf.
Previously, Yusuf said that local people were a priority that would be invited to attend the August 17 ceremony at IKN.
"According to the direction of the President, the community around IKN is a top priority. So we will invite community leaders, religious leaders, cultural leaders. The community around IKN is a priority to be presented," explained Yusuf.
He hopes that later the community will be close to IKN and President Joko Widodo also invites the public to jointly pick up the future at IKN.

The Proclamation Ceremony at the State Palace of IKN, East Kalimantan, will be chaired by President Joko Widodo as inspector of ceremonies, and will be attended by elected presidential candidates in the 2024 General Election Prabowo Subianto.
The palace has also sent invitations for ceremonies in two places, namely at IKN for the former president of the Republic of Indonesia and the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta for the former vice president of the Republic of Indonesia.
Invitations for members of the DPR/MPR, ministers, religious, traditional and cultural leaders as well as the community are also divided into two, namely in IKN and Jakarta.
"For those at IKN, the invitation consists of the President and First Lady, the former president, the head of the head of state institutions, and the minister. The TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, religious, cultural, traditional leaders, and the surrounding community will all be presented at the State Palace. IKN," said Yusuf.
