The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Calls The Wealth Report Of Candidates For Regional Heads Important So That The Public Can Give An Assessment
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded regional head candidates who will advance in the 2024 Pilkada to submit a state administrator's wealth report (LHKPN). This reporting is important so that the public can carry out monitoring.
"The public has the opportunity to see and assess the assets owned by regional head candidates both before, during, and after taking office," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika in a written statement, Thursday, August 8.
"This step is important to ensure that there is no unreasonable increase in wealth that could be an indication of corrupt practices or abuse of office," he continued.
Tessa also said that reporting wealth to the anti-corruption commission could actually be proof of the commitment of the candidates to present a good government.
"This process is to ensure that only those with integrity and accountability can advance and be elected in regional head elections," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.
Previously reported, the KPK has issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 13 of 2024 concerning Technical Guidelines for Submission and Granting LHKPN Receipts in the Election of Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, as well as Mayors and Deputy Mayors. KPK Deputy Prevention and Monitoring Pahala Nainggolan hopes that the reports can be carried out soon.
"This guideline is designed to facilitate the reporting process and ensure that every prospective regional head candidate can meet the requirements set clearly and transparently," said Pahala in a written statement, Friday, August 2.
The details of the rules for submitting wealth reports for prospective regional heads are as follows:
1. For prospective candidates who do not have an LHKPN reporting account, they must register with the KPK to obtain a username and password in accordance with the procedures described in detail in the Circular. After obtaining an account, they must report LHKPN using the Type of Special Report;
2. For prospective candidates who already have an account but are currently not registered as Mandatory to Report LHKPN to an agency, they are required to contact the Directorate of PP LHKPN KPK to reactivate the account and then report LHKPN;
