Vice President Rejects Requirements For Establishment Of Houses Of Worship From FKUB Removed: Minister Of Religion Can't Be As Long As Corat Strikes Out
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin did not agree if the conditions for establishing a house of worship would no longer require a recommendation from the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB).
"Actually, the Minister of Religion should not just write off. Because the rules for establishing houses of worship are actually agreements from religious assemblies, the agreement was made with the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Home Affairs," said the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.
The Vice President responded to the statement of the Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas regarding the establishment of houses of worship that would no longer require recommendations from the FKUB, but only through the Ministry of Religion.
The Vice President emphasized that the process of establishing a house of worship did not just happen, but through the results of discussions which were then contained in a joint regulation.
"So the process didn't just happen and the agreement was made for four months in 11 meetings. I know it, I gave birth to it. From the results of the discussions, there was an agreement which was then stated in the Joint Regulation of the Minister of Religion and the Minister of Home Affairs," continued Ma'ruf Amin.

Therefore, the Vice President once again reminded that the conditions for establishing a house of worship from FKUB should not just be replaced. According to him, these conditions have gone through a long process and also listen to a lot of opinions.
"So, there is the impeachment article, why does the regulation exist. Don't then just delete the agreement, just write it off, just replace it. I think it should be seen first why, why did the regulation occur, there are reasons, and why was the regulation made and listened to many opinions from those involved at that time, "said the Vice President.
