TNI AD Prepares 199 Personnel For Ceremony At IKN And Merdeka Palace

JAKARTA - Army ranks have prepared 199 troops to participate in the commemoration ceremony for the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) and the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on August 17, 2024.

"The total number of participants involved in all these activities reached 199 people. The Indonesian Army ensures that all preparations go according to plan and procedure," said Head of the Indonesian Army Information Service, Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 5.

Kristomei explained that the Indonesian Army troops who will attend the ceremony at IKN will carry out exercises in the Cibubur area, East Jakarta and Merdeka Balikpapan Square from 1 - 15 August 2024.

"Those who participated in the ceremony at IKN were male protocol troops, cowad protocol troops, honorary battery troops, and military music units. Personnel from Yonarmed 18/Buritkang Kodam VI/Mlw will use the 105 mm Kal Cannon," said Kristomei.

As for the personnel who participated in the ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, he said, they would conduct exercises from 11 - 15 August 2024.

They will take part in a hybrid ceremony that will be centered at IKN. "Those who participated in the ceremony at the Palace were male and cowad protocol troops from Kodam Jaya and Garnisun I/Jakarta," said Kristomei.

In addition, the TNI AD will also deploy its troops to hold Honorary and Sacred Reflection Ceremony (AKRS) at the Kalibata and IKN TPU on August 17, 2024 simultaneously at 00.00 WIB.

"Those who participate in protocol forces, regents' deputies, Pamen's deputies, Pama's deputies, and military music units," he said.

Kristomei ensured that all his troops had prepared the best for the success of the independence ceremony which was held at IKN for the first time.
