Profile Of Killa The Phia, Metal Band From Aceh Who Tops At Wacken Festival Germany

JAKARTA - Killa The Phia proved that their band deserves to be a performer at the 2024 Wacken Open Air in Germany. Their stage action succeeded in giving their own color at the famous loud music festival.

The band, which was strengthened by Madon (vocals), Sinjo (bass), Reza and Aan (guitar) and Dian (drums), brought Aceh culture to the international stage. Not only from costumes and other visual aspects, they also offered traditional musical instruments to amaze the audience.

Musically, they are inspired by a number of MetallCore groups such as Burgerkill, Pantera to Lamb of God. The touch of traditional music and lyrics that discuss life and religion many form their own identities.

Talking about name, Killa The Phia sounded scary at first glance. But the name was taken from the Philadelphia plea, the largest city in Pennsylvania, United States.

Citing the DCDC page that accompanied the band from Aceh to Germany, Killa The Phia was formed on August 8, 2008. They have released an EP titled Now The Time and several singles afterwards, such as The Last Apparel, You See and I.D.O.M.

Before tasting the powerful Wacken stage in Germany, Killa The Phia had already 'heated' performing at a number of major music festivals in Indonesia. Some of them are Sonicfair (2015), Hellprint (2017), and the Rockin Battle (2017) competition, where they won the top 3 predicate.

In the same year, Killa The Phia also had a memorable experience in their careers. Madon et al have the honor of being an opening act Dream Theater performing at the Jogjarockarta Festival.

Their appearance at the 2024 Wacken Open Air was also a new highlight on Killa The Phia's musical journey. What else surprise will color their progress?
