Bastianini Wins British GP After Defeating Martin And Pecco
JAKARTA - Ducati Racer Esea Bastianini won the MotoGP race at the Silverston Circuit, England, after defeating Jorge Martin and team-mate Francesco Bagnaia. This is Bastianini's sixth win of his career in the highest class which also saw him dominate Silverston this year after winning the Sprint race one day earlier.Reporting from Antara, Bastianini, who started the 20 lap race from the third position, kept his position in the early stages of the race, behind Martin in second place and Bagnaia in first place. On lap 12th, Bagnaia lost his position after being taken by Martin. Two laps later, his teammate made another mistake because it was wide at the corner and this was used by Bastianini to take second place. After being in second place, the Bastianini mission is to follow Martin who at this moment excels away from him.Like repeating how his Sprint won on Saturday, Bastianini finally overtook Martin on lap 19 when the Prima Pramac racer went wide at the third corner.Bastianini punished Martin's mistake and he immediately shot up in pole position to finish without interference from the Spaniard with a time of 39 minutes 51.879 seconds.Bastianini was 1.931 seconds ahead of Martin who was in second place and 5.866 seconds ahead of Bagnaia who took third place. In the top five, the fourth position is occupied by Marc Marquez and the fifth position is occupied by Fabio Di Giannantonio.
A 25-point score made Bastianini distance himself from Marquez in the standings with 192 points in third place, 13 points ahead of the Gresini racer.Meanwhile, the second position at Silverston is enough to get Martin back to the top of the standings. He now has 241 points, leading three points from Bagnaia in second place. Here are the results of the 2024 English MotoGP:1. Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo) 39:51,8792.
