Police: Terrorism Suspect In Batu Simpatisan Daulah Islamiyah
The National Police revealed that the terrorism suspect in Batu, Malang, East Java with the initials HOK (19) was a sympathizer of Daulah Islamiyah who was affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
"The person concerned has pledged allegiance. The pledge was carried out online by the person concerned using one of the social media applications, taking allegiance to the amir (leader) of Daulah Islamiyah ISIS," said Densus 88 Anti-terror Police Spokesperson Kombes Aswin Siregar in a video caption quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, August 3.
Aswin explained, HOK accesses various sites containing Daulah Islamiyah propaganda. The teenager also received radical information from social media, so there was a feeling of wanting to commit suicide bombings.
"The suspect got or had a giroh, the giroh was approximately enthusiastic, to carry out attacks like this on his own," said Aswin.
HOK plans to carry out a suicide bombing targeting places of worship in Batu, Malang, East Java. He was arrested on Langsep Street, Comb Village, Batu District, Malang, Wednesday (31/7).
Then, the Densus team and the East Java Police conducted a search and search of the perpetrator's rented house at the Tanjung Bunga Housing Complex, Junrejo Village, Junrejo District, Batu City, Malang, Thursday (1/8).

After being arrested and searched, the police found several Chemical liquids that would be used as explosives.
"During the search, several jars containing this ordinary Gotri were also found as collateral or to increase the damage to the bomb made," said Aswin.
Aswin said the suspect HOK learned how to assemble bombs via the internet. "Adawebsite is certain that is accessed by the person concerned and also through social media," he said.
For his actions, HOK was charged with Article 15 in conjunction with Article 7 and/or Article 9 of Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning Amendments to Law Number 15 of 2003 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2002 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism into Laws.
