Keroncong And Malay Music Evidence Of Indonesian Cultural Wealth
JAKARTA - In order to welcome Indonesian Independence Day, the SYMPHONESIA concert with the title 'Proud Indonesia' was held at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta on Thursday, August 1 night.
This show was presented to inspire feelings and invite the audience to be more proud as Indonesians.
Erwin Gutawa who led the orchestra featured several important repertoires showing that Indonesia has a wide musical realm and should be proud.
Together with Endah Laras, Erwin Gutawa presents a repertoire of keroncong music combined with an orchestra. They brought Benawan Solo, an iconic work by maestro Keroncong, Gesang.
"We'll see the next song," said Endah Laras, followed by performing the song Koes Plus entitled Kolam Susu with a keroncong rhythm.
Apart from keroncong, the SYMPHONESIA concert also presents Malay music which is a type of music that is loved by many people on the island of Sumatra.

In addition to these two performances, this concert also presents a variety of repertoires from mandatory songs, traditional songs, pop songs that breathe nationalism.
Some of the performers who also performed at the SYMPHONESIA concert were Voice of Baceprot, Putri Ariani, Once Mekel, Endah Laras, and Eka Deli.
