The US Space Force Increases The Contract Value Of SpaceX And ULA By IDR 29 Trillion
JAKARTA SpaceX and United Launch Alliance (ULA) received and an additional US$1.8 billion (Rp29 trillion) to carry out more launching missions from the US Space Force (USSF). This contract value has increased due to launch demand for Phase 2's National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program has increased. The additional funds provided will be divided according to the company's needs. ULA will receive an increase in contract value of US$1.1 billion (Rp17 trillion) bringing the total contract to US$4.5 billion (Rp73 trillion). Meanwhile, SpaceX received US$661 million (Rp10 trillion) and its contract value to US$4 billion (Rp65 trillion). Reporting from Spacenews, the USSF Space System Command Spokesman said that this change in contract value was necessary due to the estimated number of missions experiencing an increase. The launch below the NSSL Phase 2 contract is estimated to reach 49 missions.

This change in contract value will not affect the upcoming NSSL Phase 3 program. The spokesperson explained that the new mission quantity for Phase 2 will be booked before the NSSL Phase 3 contract starts. ULA and SpaceX are two launch service providers for the NSSL Phase 2 program. On July 30, ULA launched the last USSF satellite on an Atlas V rocket. Furthermore, the payload under the NSSL program will be launched using the Centaur minimum. There is little information regarding the NSSL payload launched by ULA. The company only explained that the payload named USSF-51 was launched into a geostationary orbit (GEO) for US military purposes.
