JAKARTA - Mayor of Depok, West Java, Mohammad Idris stated that the creative industry and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been able to drive the city's economy so far.
"The MSMEs are able to move the wheels of the economy, including the creative industry as a contributor to the increase in the economic growth rate (LPE) of Depok City", said Idris in Depok, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, March 23.
According to him, the growth of the creative industry has also contributed greatly to alleviating poverty in Depok City, because through the business established by each group member, a lot of workforce is absorbed.
To improve the ability of MSME players, the Depok City Government has taken various ways, one of which is collaborating with government partners to increase the capacity of MSMEs.
"We, together with government partners, help to increase the capital for MSMEs, it is in the nature of corporate social responsibility (CSR), and assistance that prioritizes the interests of others", he said.
