Rizieq Shihab's Lawyer Will Not Read The Exception In Courtroom
JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab's lawyer, Alamsyah Hanafiah said the file of objection note (exception) on the indictment of the public prosecutor (JPU) has been submitted to the East Jakarta District Court. Lawyers will not appear in court to read the exception.
"We didn't read it out in the courtroom, we only left it to the judge because the trial was online, so we still didn't attend the trial," Alamysah told reporters, Tuesday, March 23.
"Yesterday we would submit (the exception file) to the court," he continued.
According to him, Rizieq Shihab's lawyers will only monitor the progress of the trial.
"We only monitor whether the judge reads out today or not," he said
Some of the points of exception include the charges regarding Joint Decree (SKB) from six ministers regarding the dissolution of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) and the use of Article 160 of the Criminal Code and the Health Quarantine Law.
"Suddenly Article 160 of the Criminal Code and the quarantine law were applied. There is no legal relationship between the violation of the ministerial decree and Article 160 and the Quarantine Law," he said.
Today Rizieq Shihab's follow-up trial is related to two cases, namely the Petamburan crowd and the swab test at the UMMI Hospital in Bogor.

In the indictment, Rizieq Shihab's violation was on his first arrival in Indonesia on November 10, 2020. Rizieq Shihab, who had just arrived in Indonesia from Saudi Arabia, was supposed to undergo independent quarantine for 14 days.
However, Rizieq Shihab did not do it. Two days after arriving in Indonesia, Rizieq Shihab actually attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Markaz Syariah Agro-cultural Islamic Boarding School.
The Bogor Regency Government, through the Civil Service Police Unit, who already knew about the existence of this activity, appealed to the surrounding community not to get involved. The district government put up an appealing banner.
However, Rizieq Shihab ignored the appeal. Without obtaining a permit from the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force, the event was held.
