Spotify CEO Confirms HiFi Audio Feature Construction
JAKARTA Since late last year, Spotify has reportedly been creating a HiFi service to deliver lossless audio for Premium package users. This news was finally confirmed by the company's leadership. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, quoted by The Verge, said that the HiFi package with better offers from Premium is still in its work stage. This feature is still in its early stages of development and it is not yet known when it will be launched. "The plan here is to offer a much better version of Spotify," said Ek. The company's leader also explained that this package would be much more expensive than a regular Premium package because its audio quality is much better. HiFi packages are considered like a deluxe version of Spotify because of its more expensive price, but with the best quality. Packages with HiFi features will offer, "a much higher control, much higher overall quality."

Ek explained that Spotify will sell the HiFi package around 17 US dollars (IDR 276 thousand) or 18 US dollars (IDR 292 thousand), 5 US dollars (IDR 81 thousand) more expensive than the Premium level. However, this price has not been set because the features are still being worked on. Although it seems very expensive, Ek believes that some users will be interested in buying subscription packages with lossless audio features. The reason is, audio with clearer sound will make the music sound like the original sound. "There are most of the 246 million subscribers who want a much better version of Spotify," said Ek. "They are music lovers who are primarily looking for more flexibility in their way of using Spotify."
