Land Bank And Kendal Regional Government Prepare Houses For Low-Income Communities

The Land Bank Agency strengthens collaboration in supporting the provision of decent housing for low-income people (MBR).

This is by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BTN) and PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero), BP Tapera, Kendal Regency Government and PT Asatu Realty Asri regarding housing planning, development and financing for MBR, in Mergosari Village today, Tuesday, July 23.

Deputy for Utilization and Business Cooperation, Hakiki Sudrajat said, the collaboration in providing proper housing for MBR in Kendal Regency is a follow-up to the previous memorandum of understanding that the Land Bank together with the Ministry of PUPR, Bank BTN, PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero) and BP Tapera, regarding the synergy of housing development and financing.

"The signing of this MoU is a form of the commitment of the Land Bank Agency in carrying out its mandate in PP 64 of 2021, one of which is to ensure land availability for the public interest," Hakiki said in his remarks, Tuesday, July 23.

The Land Bank Agency in this collaboration plays a role in providing land that is the location for the construction of the MBR house. "This is a mandate given to us. We want to support the government's program in providing houses for MBR and be able to overcome the problem of housing availability (backlog) in Indonesia," he explained.

Just so you know, the number of residential backlogs in Indonesia is still very high. Referring to data from the Ministry of PUPR, currently 12.7 million housing units are still needed to realize Indonesia's zero backlog.

Hakiki said that the land provided by the Land Bank Agency was given at competitive utilization rates, so that later the price of the MBR house provided would also be more affordable.

"People who live in MBR housing can increase their certificate status from being a certificate of ownership (SHM) after 10 years," he continued.

The collaboration between the Land Bank Agency in providing land for housing for MBR is not the first. Previously, it had been carried out in Brebes Regency, Central Java, in collaboration with the Ministry of PUPR, Perumnas, PT SMF, Bank BTN and BP Tapera. Currently, the construction of the house has been carried out periodically and marketed to the public.
