Disdik Admits BPK's Findings Are The Cause Of Hundreds Of Honorary Teachers In Jakarta Being Fired Unilaterally

Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Budi Awaluddin, opened his voice about hundreds of honorary teachers in Jakarta who suddenly terminated his teaching contract. Budi said that this dismissal was a policy of cleaning the aftermath of the findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

"We did the cleansing of the findings from the BPK," Budi said when contacted, Tuesday, July 16.

Budi explained that currently the DKI Jakarta Education Office is controlling honorary staff in the Jakarta regional education unit, referring to Permendikbud Number 63 of 2022.

In the regulation, it is stated that teachers who can be given honorariums must meet the requirements of non-ASN status, Listed in Basic Education Data (Dapodik), have Unique Educators and Education Personnel Number (NUPTK), and have not received teacher professional allowances.

Meanwhile, hundreds of honorary teachers who were fired were those who were appointed by the principal without receiving a recommendation from the DKI Education Office. So, they do not have NUPTK.

"The honorary teacher is currently appointed by the principal without a recommendation from the education office which is financed by BOS funds," said Budi.

In fact, Budi claims that his party has issued instructions that the appointment of teachers must obtain recommendations from the Education Office. This is what BPK found and made Disdik DKI have to clean honorary teachers.

"Based on the results of the 2024 BPK examination, a map of the need for honorary teachers that is not in accordance with Permendikbud and the provisions as recipients of honorariums was found," he explained.

The Teacher Education Association (P2G) noted that 107 honorary teachers in Jakarta were affected by unilateral dismissal. Head of the P2G Teacher Advocacy Division, Iman Zanatul Haeri, revealed that on July 5, 2024 or the first week of entering a new school in 2024/2025, honorary teachers received messages from their respective principals to fill out the form online.

Apparently, in the form, honorary teachers were asked to fill in the data and approval stating that they could no longer teach because of the honorary cleansing policy.

"Since the first day they entered was the last day at school. After it was announced they were no longer allowed to teach, they were told to fill out the cleansing form. It was like being shot, then told to dig their own graves," Iman told reporters.

When they received a smooth "expel" from their work, honorary teachers in DKI Jakarta were shocked because they suddenly stopped working. This is because some honorary teachers who were affected by the dismissal have taught for more than 6 years.

Some are crying, some are confused about how to tell their family at home because in a short time their career as a teacher just ran aground. To this day they are still wondering, what policy is this and why are they being treated like that? Without notification and without preparation," said Iman.
