Anas Urbaningrum And Corting Controversy Sentence Corruptors

JAKARTA - Anas Urbaningrum once touched on not being involved in corruption in the Hambalang Project. The chairman of the Democratic Party considers his political life to be straight. He even dared to swear to hang himself at Monas if it was corruption. However, Anas could not keep the ulcers for too long.

Corruption evidence points to him. He received a prison sentence. Anas did not remain silent and continued to take advantage of the level in the litigation procedure to get a correlative sentence appeal, cassation, and a review (PK).

Optimism is behind the idea of building the National Center for Education, Training and Sports Facilities (P3SON) in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java in 2010. Development known as the Hambalang Project. A project that is believed to be an assessment of the achievements of national athletes.

Problems arise. Instead of the Hambalang Project being able to improve the achievements of national athletes, the project actually became a demonstration event for a number of high-ranking party officials - highlighting their corruption achievements. All because the gap in corruption from projects worth trillions of rupiah is wide open.

The corruption was getting stronger when the General Treasurer of the Democratic Party, Nazaruddin, began to'sing' regarding Hambalang Corruption in 2011. Nazaruddin also made a scene by cornering Anas as one of the people who enjoyed Hambalang's corruption funds.

Nazaruddin believes that Anas will get up to Rp100 billion. This amount is divided into efforts to win it as the General Chair of the Democrats. The rest are divided into Nazaruddin and other members of the DPR.

Anas tried to dismiss the allegations. He felt he had not committed corruption. He revealed the narrative with the courage to swear. He dared to hang himself at Monas if it was proven corruption. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) also worked hard.

They are investigating Anas' involvement in the corruption of the Hambalang Project and other projects. The KPK moved quickly to make Anas a suspect on February 22, 2013. Anas began to be detained by the KPK on January 10, 2014. The detention made the public waiting for Anas' promise to hang at Monas. Even though it was never done.

The Corruption Eradication Commission has detained Anas Urbaningrum as a suspect in the suryptop case of the Hambalang sports education center construction and training project, Bogor, West Java, Friday evening last week. The former chairman of the Democratic Party was put in a detention cell on the ninth floor of the Commission building after being questioned four hours from 13.30 p.m.

When Anas came out of the main door of the KPK building, his clothes, which were originally white shirts, increased with orange jackets of prisoners. He thanked the Chairman of the KPK, Abraham Samad, who signed a letter of detention, also to investigators whose names he mentioned one by one. Then he 'attacked' President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who is also Chairman of the Democratic Party: Hopefully this event has meaning and meaning, and will become a gift for the new year 2014," wrote Tempo magazine report entitled Anas Urbaningrum Detained (2014).

The Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor) also tried Anas in September 2014. Anas was sentenced to 8 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 300 million, a subsidiary of 3 months, plus the obligation to pay compensation of Rp. 57.59 billion and US$ 5.26 million. The verdict was considered small because the prosecutor demanded that Anas be sentenced to tens of years.

The verdict was taken by the panel of judges consisting of Haswandi, Prim Haryadi, Sutio Jumadi, Joko Subagyo and Slamet Subagyo. Anas is considered proven guilty of corruption. He was proven to have received gifts from a number of government projects and money laundering.

However, Anas refused to accept the decision. He also took advantage of the advanced level of litigants. Anas filed an appeal and succeeded in February 2015. The Jakarta High Court issued a decision stating Anas' sentence to seven years in prison. Alias, reduced by one year.

The KPK took a stand. They filed an appeal to the Supreme Court (MA) over the decision to reduce Anas' sentence. At that time it was difficult for Anas to get a corting sentence. Because Anas will be tried by a panel of Supreme Court judges whose enemies are corrupt, Artidjo Alkostar.

Sure enough. Instead of getting a corting, Anas' sentence actually increased to 14 years in prison. A similar condition was also experienced by Anas' colleague, Angelina Sondakh. Angelina, who initially wanted to appeal so that her sentence was reduced, was actually increased and increased by Artidjo Alkostar to 12 years in prison.

Anas also thought about making the most PK efforts. However, the good luck was with Anas. He submitted a PK after Artidjo was no longer the supreme judge because he retired in 2018. The sentence, which was originally 14 years in prison, turned to eight years.

However, Anas, who received the corting, denied that the PK was carried out on purpose after waiting for Artidjo to retire. The PK was proposed because Artidjo was considered wrong in formulating a decision for him. The success of PK Anas then led to criticism that Indonesian law was never sharp to corruptors.

"Oh no. It has nothing to do with Artidjo retiring, because my case is the cassation held by Mr. Artidjo. However, indeed this is related to Mr. Artidjo's decision, the decision that made me is not credible. If Mr. Artidjo understands exactly, I'm sure Mr. Artidjo will regret the decision," said Anas Urbaningrum as quoted by the COMPASS.com page, May 24, 2018.
