WhatsApp Beta Launches Voice Message Transcript On Android Devices

JAKARTA After launching a transcript of voice messages on WhatsApp for iOS last year, the feature will now be extended to Android devices. Reportedly, this feature is being tested to a small number of beta-version users. The voicemail transcript was first seen on WhatsApp for Android devices last March. This feature began to be added to the WhatsApp version of the beta 2.24.15.5 which can already be downloaded via the Google Play Store. As the name implies, this feature will give rise to a transcript of voice messages sent by other WhatsApp users. This feature will help users who cannot hear voice messages, either due to hearing or noisy environment problems. Once widely launched to the public, users will get a notification that transcript features for reading voice messages are already available. When notifying users, WhatsApp will ask users to choose languages. The available languages are still very limited. For updates in the beta testing version, users can only choose English, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese for Brazil, or Hindi language.

The language available in this beta version is the most widely used language in the WhatsApp community. Apparently, WhatsApp will add more languages before the feature is released to the public. Even though you have chosen the language at the beginning, users can still change the language at a later date. After choosing the language, WhatsApp will download additional data packages first to maintain user privacy. If so, the transcript feature can be used.
