Since 2001, Hundreds Of PMIs Have Been Sent To Germany To Work In The Health Sector

TANGERANG - The Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) has dispatched 175 Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) to Germany from 2021 to 2024.

Deputy for Placement and Protection of European and Central East Regions of BP2MI, Inspector General I Ketut Suardana said the departure of hundreds of PMIs was a follow-up program by the government (G to G) for the nursing sector.

"For G2G from 2021 to 2024, there are 175 people who will depart for Germany from 800 people who are currently still in selection," said Inspector General I Ketut Suardana at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Monday, July 8.

He admitted that if PMI is still participating in the selection, the average language is constrained. Therefore, Suardana hopes that PMIs will improve their language skills again, so that they can be dispatched more than before.

"We are also trying to encourage friends who are currently selecting to improve their language skills so that they can send more to Germany," he said.

On that occasion, he revealed that of the 175 PMIs, nine of them departed today. Suardana said these 9 PMIs came from various regions.

"There are eight women and one male, they come from Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, there are Lampung and South Sulawesi," he said.
