Israel Attacks UNRWA Headquarters In Gaza, Transiting Hamas Combat Equipment

JAKARTA - The Israeli army attacked the headquarters of the UN aid agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza City, Palestine.

Citing Al Jazeera, Monday, July 8, Israel, which confirmed the attack, claimed the UNRWA headquarters contained combat equipment and an investigative and detention room belonging to Hamas.

Earlier, Israeli soldiers said they would eliminate Hamas members and destroy underground tunnel lines under Gaza City, resulting in ground operations to the city on Monday morning.

Anadolu reported that the Israeli military in a statement said the ground attack was first initiated by warnings to civilians to carry out self-evacuation.

Israel later claimed to provide a safe way for Gaza City residents who did not join the war to make it possible to evacuate.

UNRWA has yet to respond to Israel's military offensive against its headquarters in Gaza City.
