ODGJ Brings Sharp Weapons In Palabuhanratu Has Not Been Arrested, Residents Are Asked To Be Alert

The people of Palabuhanratu in Sukabumi Regency are advised to be aware of a person with a mental disorder (ODGJ) named Opa carrying a sharp weapon (sajam).

Jayanti Village Head Nandang said that ODGJ's actions had caused casualties some time ago.

"We have coordinated with the Sukabumi Police to find the whereabouts of Opa, who is an ODGJ who has attacked one of the residents of Kampung Jayanti RT 02/04, Jayanti Village, Palabuhanratu District, namely Yamin, resulting in stab wounds in several parts of his body," he said in Sukabumi, West Java (West Java), Monday, July 8, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Nandang, the Opa attack on residents took place on Sunday, July 6 at around 05.30 WIB by breaking into the victim's house.

Therefore, after this attack, his party held a meeting with the Sukabumi Police and elements of the Palabuhanratu District Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimcam).

The results of the meeting, his party agreed to increase vigilance and be on standby with Bhabinkamtibma personnel, babinsa and the community because Opa has not yet been found and is still being searched by the Sukabumi Police.

His party did not want a similar incident to happen again, especially since Opa, which is an ODGJ, has a sharp weapon and can carry out random attacks on residents at any time.

"Currently, we, together with the security forces, are still conducting a sweep so that the ODGJ can be caught immediately because it can endanger public safety," he added.

Nandang said the family handed over the handling of this case entirely to the Jayanti Village Government and the Sukabumi Police for handling Opa. The plan is that after being caught, the puskesmas will handle it first with the Sukabumi Regency Social Service," he added.

On the other hand, as a result of the attack carried out by ODGJ, the victim suffered stab wounds to the head, lips and thighs. After carrying out the attack and the persecution of Opa then fled allegedly into the forest. Meanwhile, the victim has received medical treatment and is currently starting to improve.
