Cracks Are Polluted With Tikus To Basmi Hama Eaten, 2 Boy's Mouth In Malaysia In Poisoning

JAKARTA - Two children aged two and three years were poisoned after eating crackers by rat poison to eradicate pests.

The cracker was hanged by a Gardener in front of his yard to trap a wild monkey which he considered pests.

"The two victims allegedly took a packet of crackers mixed with rat poison which was hung on the garden fence by a zoor to trap a monkey," said Kulim Supt Police Chief Mohd Azizul Mohd Khairi in his statement, Monday, July 8, quoted from The Sun Daily.

The mother of the two brothers only found out about the incident on Sunday, July 7 at 11 pm when their children started vomiting and removing foam from their mouths.

The brothers, residents of Padang Ubi Village, Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia, were immediately taken to the nearest health unit by their mother.

"The victim's mother took them to the Malau Health Clinic before going to the Kulim Hospital," he continued.

When they arrived at the Kulim Hospital for intensive care, the two children were in critical condition. Both were then referred to the Penang Hospital which had more complete equipment.

"At 19.30 the two victims were taken to the Penang Hospital for further treatment," said the Kulim Police Chief.

Gardeners who put crackers in rat poison dioles have been named suspects in this poisoning case.

"This case is being investigated under Article 31(1) (a) of the 2001 Child Law (UU 611) and Article 284 of the Criminal Code," he concluded.
