Extreme Weather Disrupts Electricity Supply In Central Maluku

PT PLN Main Unit for the Maluku and North Maluku Region (UIW MMU) has recovered the electricity system for areas affected by extreme weather, especially the Tamilouw Auction in Tehorou District, Central Maluku Regency.

"The recovery of the electricity system was carried out following a disruption due to the breaking of the Tamilouw auctioneer," said General Manager of PLN UIW MMU, Awaat Tuhuloula, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 7.

He said the extreme weather that hit Central Maluku Regency in the last few days had caused a number of infrastructures in the area to experience total disruption.

PLN through Masohi's Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) by immediately deploying 40 personnel to restore the electricity system.

"The electricity system was cut off at the Tamilouw auctioneer, several points of which were disrupted. Among them were Rumah tiga and Kawanua," he said.

He stated that as a result of the breakdown of the electricity system in the auctioneers, 59 substations and 2,969 customers were affected by the blackout.

Personnel in the field must continue to work by paying attention to the culture of occupational safety and health.

"The community also asks for help by cleaning the electricity network infrastructure from potential harms, such as tree branches, and others. Let's take care of our assets, and hopefully all of them will be protected from unwanted things," he said.

Masohi's Customer Service Unit (ULP) manager, Muhammad Ilham, said the location on the Tamilouw auctioner's power grid was successfully restored until the end of the net. A total of 59 substations are active again and 2,969 customers can now enjoy full electricity services.
