Indicator Survey: Highest Kaesang Electability In Central Java Gubernatorial Election, Tight Competitor Ahmad Luthfi

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute released a poll on the electability of figures in the Central Java Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub). As a result, PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep has the highest electability in the simulation of a survey of 20 candidate names with 17.7 percent electability. The second highest electability was occupied by the Central Java Police Chief Ahmad Luthfi at 15.6 percent. The founder of Indicator Burhanuddin Muhtadi said Ahmad Luthfi was a tough competitor to Kaesang because the percentage of electability was still within the margin of error range."Kaesang is in first place but in the margin of error difference with Ahmad Lutfi, the Central Java Police Chief. So, we don't really know who is superior. But Kaesang is in first place absolutely. Even that is not dominant," said Burhanuddin in a virtual survey presentation, Sunday, July 7.The third position was filled by former Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen with 12.8 percent electability. After that, PDIP politician Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul with 6 percent electability. Then, there is the name Kendal Regent Dico Ganinduto with 5.6 percent electability, Raffi Ahmad 4.4 percent, Achmad Husein 3.4 percent, M. Yusuf Chudiori 3.3 percent, Sudaryono 3.2 percent, and several other names with electability below 3 percent. The survey was again conducted with a simulation of 10 names. As a result, the name of President Joko Widodo's son remained the highest with an electability of 22.8 percent.Ahmad Lutfi also occupied the second-highest electability of 18.7 percent. Furthermore, Taj Yasin Maimoen was 12.7 percent, Bambang Pacul was 9.1 percent, and other names were below 7 percent."The electability is not much different from the previous simulation. But even though Mas Kaesang is ranked first with a margin of error of 3.5 percent, it is not significant compared to Ahmad Luthfi," explained Burhanuddin. For information, this survey was conducted in the period 10-17 June 2024 with a total sample of 800 respondents from all regencies/cities in Central Java.
The response was obtained through a multistage random sampling technique with a margin of error of ± 3.5 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
