Like Armageddon, Beryl Storm Meluluhlankan Settlement In The Caribbean Up To 7 People Died

JAKARTA - Hurricane Beryl, which approached Jamaica, razed houses and destroyed farms on small islands in the eastern Caribbean. The storm killed seven people.

PM Grenada, Caribbean, said the Beryl storm was like "Armageddon". The storm has a maximum wind speed of 230 kilometers.

"Beryl is expected to bring winds that threaten safety and storm waves to Jamaica on Wednesday and the Cayman Islands on Wednesday night and Thursday," the storm hub said in a warning.

In the capital, Kingston, cars queue at a gas station when people carry additional containers to refuel. Residents stockpiled water and other important supplies and closed shops and houses.

"Yes, at this time (we) are worried about the storm. You know, this is Category 5, and in Jamaica people are worried and always shop and buy things like this store," said Andre, a seller at a local store.
