PKB Consider Sandiaga Uno Forward West Java Gubernatorial Election, PPP: If There Is An Opportunity, Of Course We Are Happy

JAKARTA - PPP Deputy General Chair (Waketum) Amir Uskara welcomes the PKB proposal which considers the name of PPP politician Sandiaga Uno as a candidate for governor in the 2024 West Java Regional Head Election (Pilkada). If there is a chance, PPP will support Sandiaga to run in the West Java Pilgub. For example, PKB carries Sandi in West Java, we will appreciate it, we will see if there is an opportunity, of course PPP will be very happy, for example, our cadres are promoted," said Amir at the PAN DPP Office, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 3.

Amir said PPP would immediately communicate with PKB regarding the offer. "We all, while all of us are going, because in West Java there are also others who ask us to communicate with it," he said.

Apart from West Java, Amir said Sandiaga also received an offer to advance in the East Java Pilkada. So he said, PPP will see where Sandiaga is most likely to be promoted in the upcoming 2024 Pilkada. There are also those who offer to advance East Java. So we are still seeing where Pak Sandi's opportunity can be accepted," he concluded. Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid said he would consider proposals to carry figures outside parties, such as the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno to become a candidate for governor of West Java.

Jazilul said the proposal came from PKB cadres in the regions as well as people from West Java (West Java).

"For West Java, we have searched for internal PKB cadres who may be proposed to run like Pak Cucun, Pak Huda. However, there are aspirations such as those from some West Java people and also PKB cadres to invite Pak Sandiaga Uno to become a candidate for governor of West Java," said Jazilul Fawaid, Tuesday, July 2.

He added that Sandiaga Uno had descendants from West Java. PKB itself admits that it is still considering proposals so that Sandiaga Uno can be carried in the 2024 West Java Pilkada.

"Because Mr. Sandiaga is also his mother, West Java. However (the proposal) needs to be explored further, because whatever the election is one of the levels of complexity, the first is to find a coalition party, the second is looking for a partner," he added.
