A report from a Korean publication, ETNews, revealed that these two series will not use screen technology similar to the Galaxy S24 series as previously thought. Instead, these devices will feature the best OLED panels ever produced in the industry.

According to reports, the M14 OLED panels to be used in the Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 Pro series use advanced materials such as "HyperEffiscient EL," which increases the efficiency of the blue light emitting layer.

This results in an increase in brightness by 30% for brighter highlights compared to previous M13 OLED panels. Samsung has also increased its optical efficiency by implementing lower-dispersion CPL materials.
Although the M14 panel is expected to provide a significant improvement over today's technology, the basic variant of the iPhone 16 series is expected to continue using the previous generation OLED panel, namely M12. This decision is intended to maintain a balance between performance and cost efficiency in the product lineup.
