Meta Becomes The Most Obedient Sosmed Platform To Content Policy In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Based on data released by the Ministry of Communication and Information, regarding compliance with social media platforms, Meta is the company that most complies with content policies in Indonesia.
According to the results of internal research by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Directorate General of Informatics Applications (Aptica), of the 309,369 submissions of negative content to be taken down on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp, Meta has followed up on 297,736 content.
While the submissions that have not been followed up are 8,298 content, and 3,335 of them are in the process of being checked. Thus, Meta has a compliance score from Kominfo of 96.24 percent.
In second place with the highest compliance level of the Kominfo version is Google and YouTube (94.06 percent). Where, of the 11,340 negative content submitted for take down, Google has followed up on at least 10,666 content.
Furthermore, in third place is the MiChat platform (92.39 percent), which has followed up on 1,105 negative content from a total of 1,196 content submitted by Kominfo to take down.
Without realizing it, X as the platform that is considered the most negative content is actually the fourth most obedient social media version of Kominfo with a content follow-up percentage of 87.38 percent.

From the report of the Percentage of takedown content on social media for the period January - 27 June 2024 according to the Kominfo version, X has followed up on 18,949 negative content, out of the total proposed content of 21,658.
"Twitter is a compliance level of 87.38 percent, the level of compliance to take down content from the government's request," said Director of Information Application Control of the Directorate General of Aptika, Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Teguh Arifiyadi.
Then in the fifth and sixth positions, there are Bigo Live and Snack Video social media with a percentage of handling content of 85.04 percent and 78.09 percent, respectively.
